Describe your basic experimental set up: we collected soil from two different plots that had X Y and Z in common. The first plot had low drainage and the second plot had high drainage.

Give a brief overview of how you collected your data. This should include things like nematode extractions, how you counted individuals, that you sequenced DNA. Not incredibly detailed here, but make sure to cover the basics. Remember this is targeted to a non-science audience.
